About

At 17, fresh out of high school, I started my first business with a pick-up truck and an inner drive to make my own way. I worked like crazy- regularly putting in 16-18 hours/ day. Eventually, I saved up enough money to help finance a university degree and a rooming house on a leafy green street in south end Halifax.

I then studied business at Saint Marys University and York University in Canada. With two degrees under my belt, I travelled abroad and ended up in Sweden where I spent two more years studying business at Lund University. My studies abroad gave me new perspectives (and Swedens smart storage ideas in university residences inspired me). When I return home I began investing in more student housing, incorporating the same functionality that I saw in Sweden.

More recently, I’ve helped grow award-winning businesses with my brother and father in several industries: self-storage, executive suites, vacation rentals and resorts.

In 2021, I graduated with a health promotion degree from Dalhousie University. I’ m passionate about creating healthy (and equitable) living places. And, during my studies at Dal I made two trips to Sierra Leone with the executive director of help2overcome.org to help build toilets at two all girls schools.
